Quick thoughts
Does it matter who starts the noise?
This year, International Womenâs Day has two themes floating aroundâMarch Forward: For ALL Women and Girls and Accelerate Action. And thereâs a bit of chatter about which is the ârightâ one.
But hereâs the real question: Does it matter?
If the goal is to celebrate, elevate, and advocate for womenâsocially, economically, culturally, politicallyâdoes it really matter what banner we rally under?

In the world of communication, momentum is everything. The more voices, the more noise, the more impact. Public advocacy isnât about controlâitâs about amplification. If women are benefitting, if progress is happening, then the message is landing.
So letâs not get caught up in whose theme is âofficial.â Letâs focus on what really counts: raising women up. However we do it, letâs just do it louder. â

Love is in the air!Â

Itâs February, and love is in the air! â¤ď¸ But we’re not just talking romantic love, we’re talking customer love. Think selling toilet paper is easy? Everyone needs it, right? Just blast a generic ad and watch it fly off the shelves? Nope. Even the most basic products need a real connection with their audience.
Because while everyone needs TP, not everyone wants the same kind. It’s about understanding your customer’s needs and showing them some love:
đ°Â Budget-conscious? “Stock up without breaking the bank â bulk deals inside.” These are the savvy shoppers who know the cost per sheet.
đą Eco-warrior? “Recycled, sustainable, and soft on the planet.” Think Who Gives A Crap â they get it!
đś Families? “Hypoallergenic and fragrance-free for delicate skin.” Peace of mind for parents.
Smart marketing isnât just about sellingâitâs about showing your audience you see them, get them, and value them. Thatâs how you turn a simple transaction into long-term love. What are some ways you show your customers some love?

Pick one thing – that matters
đ¤ˇââď¸Â Shoulda, coulda, woulda. At the start of a new year, itâs tempting to pile on resolutions. But letâs be real: you canât magically juggle 20 fresh goals.
The key?
Pick one thing that truly matters and do it consistently. Maybe itâs committing to a weekly vlog or focusing on one income-generating task every day.
When you direct your energy into a single impactful goal, youâll see real results and build the confidence to tackle more later. Donât waste mental bandwidth beating yourself up for not doing everything. Instead, give your best to the one thing that moves the needle most. You might be surprised how quickly momentum builds when you stop trying to do it all.
Thatâs where real progress happens.

đ§Â Have you seen this ? ad from Apple? Weâre sharing it mainly because it made us chuckle, but also because itâs about the power of getting your message right.

Show, donât tell: Silent video is a thing
These days, video needs to speak without soundâand that means nailing visual storytelling. đĽâ¨
Start with one big idea (just one đ). Every frame should hit that note. Open with a striking visual hookâa bold colour, quirky character, or unexpected angle. Keep it snappy: no fluff, no filler.
Text overlays? Use sparingly. Let them breatheâtoo much feels like homework. Think of your video as a conversation with no voice. Subtle action, clean transitions, and a playful surprise or two will keep it engaging.
When in doubt: show, donât tell. With a clear idea, authentic vibes, and a dash of fun, youâll create a scroll-stopper. đĽ

Words matter
Great content is built on great copy! Here at Spinifex we love wordsâthey’re our thing! And they really (really) matter. Get them right and itâs amazing what you can achieve. Get them wrong and itâs amazing how many people you can confuse or annoy!
Great copy can cut through the noise, add personality, create connection and change people’s perspectives.
Just adding one or two words can totally flip the meaning of something, make someone feel important or like you couldnât care less, (for example a recent email encountered with the subject âNon-returning customerâ – did not make the recipient feel special đ).

Using the right words can make such a big difference in how your message comes across. Think about these two possible responses to a question:
“I don’t know.” vs. “I’ll find out and get back to you.”
They deliver two meanings to the recipientâone speaks of uncertainty and lack of engagement, while the other conveys proactivity and a willingness to assist.
So, before you next write something, take a moment to consider:
- Your audience: Who are you talking? What’s their role? How well do they know the topic? How much time do they have?
- Your goal: What are you trying to achieve with your content? Inform? Persuade? Inspire? Convert?
- The right tone: Should you be formal or informal? Encouraging or direct? Could a bit of humour create some connection?
Thinking about these things, will help you choose words that help you connect and get your message across clearly and effectively.

Cutting through the noise

Feeling lost in a sea of sameness? đ We get itâmaking your message stand out is tough.
Hereâs the reality: your audience is bombarded with content every day. To truly grab their attention, you need to understand them deeply. What are their dreams, their fears, their burning questions? đ¤ Once you know that, you can create content thatâs not just valuable but downright irresistible.
Think unique insights, actionable tips, and stories that stick in their minds like a catchy tune. And donât be afraid to be yourselfâauthenticity resonates. đ
Remember, building trust takes time. Keep showing up, keep sharingâjust because youâve seen it multiple times doesnât mean your audience has. Encourage interaction by asking questions, inviting comments, and creating opportunities for them to share their thoughts. This not only boosts engagement but also fosters a sense of community around your content.
The goal is to spark a conversation, not deliver a monologue. So keep experimenting, stay authentic, and watch your content shine in the crowded digital landscape. Your unique voice is your superpowerâembrace it!
